Daily Warmup: Ionization

Ions are atoms with an unbalanced electrical charge. That means not enough electrons, or too many electrons, to balance the number of protons.

A microwave is can heat things a lot, but cannot ionize them at all.
A UV ray can ionize things without heating them very much.
